Epilepsy is a chronic neurological condition characterized by a predisposition to recurrent, unprovoked seizures caused by sudden surges of abnormal electrical activity in the brain. Seizures vary widely in appearance—ranging from brief staring spells and momentary loss of awareness to violent convulsions and loss of consciousness.

Seizure Types & Syndromes We Treat

Generalized Tonic-Clonic Seizures

Sudden loss of consciousness followed by full-body muscle stiffening and rhythmic jerking convulsions, often followed by post-ictal confusion.

Focal (Partial) Seizures

Seizures originating in a specific area of the brain, causing localized twitching, sensory hallucinations, unusual déjà vu, or altered awareness.

Absence Seizures

Brief episodes of staring blankly into space lasting only seconds, commonly seen in pediatric and adolescent age groups without convulsions.

Emergency Alert: Status Epilepticus

A seizure lasting longer than 5 minutes, or multiple seizures occurring without the patient regaining consciousness in between, is a life-threatening medical emergency known as Status Epilepticus. Call for emergency ambulance care immediately.
